still life with pears

I tend to go on photo binges -- some weeks it's all flowers, others will find me chasing fog for days on end.  And occasionally I decide to set up a still life.  This one got lost in my archives...  :)

Can I tell you a secret?  Blue flowers have always been my favorites.  I hesitate to name a favorite, because much like children, my flowers are dear to my heart.  But I must say that the iris and veronica are the ones that set my heart beating wildly.

And put them in an antique blue bottle?  Well, that is something extra special.  I love May.  ;)

May is one of those months that just beg you to look up...  :)

I think this is a Carolina Silverbell tree.  It's been a constant parade of beautiful flowers overhead this spring.  And I'm way behind on editing all the photos I've taken because of a very achy hand.  :(

at last

I've been dying to get my hands on some ranunculus for ages now, and I finally found some in a nearby supermarket. Oh how I love these flowers! They may just be my new favorites. I can't tell you how many frames I shot of these lovelies. So, fair warning, you may be seeing them for the next week or two... :)
